The ribbon cable will now be released. The bezel has pegs that sit in holes, you need to slowly pry up the bezel. I read on some tech and computers forums they often go bad. Carefully pull the ribbon out of the connector and remove it along with the entire Asus laptop keyboard. Remove the battery, then pull back tabs Then you need to remove the battery in order to pull back the small tabs that are keeping the keyboard in place: Just replaced my keyboard, which had several dead keys.

If you’d rather not deal with installing another operating system you can just run Linux Mint from a USB drive but performance will not be as good.

Worked like a charm! Hey, thanks for this eee pc 1005ha keyboard. Ribbon cable included Product Introduction: The plastic tabs will prevent the board meyboard sitting properly. And another problem is,it can log on user failed just as guest. When you pressed these keys it executed the numbers above above the letters. I was considering installing a keyboard macro, but then I realized it would cause issues an external keyboard.
Once in place, push down on the connector tabs to lock it. I have 3 identical units with the same identical keys having issues in all 3 in even ms-dos.
Thanks a lot for this post. If it is not working, more than likely the ribbon was not inserted properly. I see that eee pc 1005ha keyboard is one on the left and three to the right but was curious if I missed one in the pic.
keyboaard You might think twice if you happen to be the lucky owner of a laptop, because replacing the keyboard rather than repairing it could be a lot less expensive.
Just swapped to a new keyboard without any problem.
Battery 2 steps Keyboard 3 steps. It will make a bit of a popping noise as it is removed. They were using the Asus Eee PC as second computer once in awhile and were getting reasonable use out of it.

I called Asus yesterday and they are cross shipping me a keyboard, try that. It also keyboare to recognize the key being pressed in a keymapper program, but it keeps pressing two commands at the same time. Try Keyboarf to Fix it!
